Personal journal of a Christian woman
the meaning of His Grace

Hey, Jesus…

My back’s against a wall
Did You know that I would fall?

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know a friend would break me
Deceive me,
and forsake me
Did you know that he would leave me
And shove me to this crawl?

Hey, Jesus…

My back’s against a wall
Did You know that I’d take this fall?

Hey, Jesus…

Can You see me?
My back’s against this wall.
My heart is broken
Few words spoken
To soothe my wounded soul.

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know I would deny You?
Betray You.
Crucify You.

Did You know that in my pain
I’d turn my back on You,

again?

I remember when You set me free
I praised You for them all to see
But I’m here
again
on bended knee

Did You know I’d take this fall?

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know that when I fell
I touched the edge of hell
And turned to look behind me,
And saw Your eyes of fire burn me

The flames in this affliction

Burning,
blazing,
and forgiving?

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know that I would fall?
And cry Your Name
And touch the flame
That burns within my soul.

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know I’d feel Your touch?
Your gentle hand
And patient stand

My Friend,
... and not My Judge.

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know I’d feel Your tender grace
And see the Glory on Your Face?
That I would finally understand
Your broken body and nail pierced hands.

Hey, Jesus…

Did You know I’d feel my shame
Wash away in Your blood,
again?

Hey, Jesus…

If You could bring a soul like me
To the ground, on my knees
Crying out Your holy name
And forgive me once again

... take away all my sin

Then there is hope for everyone.

Ann,
I really liked this one too....especially since I fall every day. Amazing that he is always there to pick us up again when we turn to him! Thank you!
